Hello! This is the hub for Yan's commission info (you may also know me as Daphne/DaphneComics). Please peruse the site before submitting a commission request, and thank you for your interest!
Commission status: CLOSED
Commission Process
1. Submit a commission request.2. You will be contacted to discuss more details if the commission is accepted. If I believe the commission is within my abilities, I will provide an estimate of the total commission price. This is not binding.3. If you agree to the estimate, you will receive a Square invoice for 50% of the commission price. Any drawing will not begin until this invoice has been paid.
● If you are requesting to be placed on the waitlist: you will still be contacted if your commission is accepted, but any further discussion will be put on hold until I am ready to begin working on your request. You will not receive an invoice until you are pulled off the waitlist. There are multiple check-ins throughout the commission, each with one set of revisions included in the commission cost.4. Check-in 1: The sketch, which will take the following forms and timeframes
● Illustrations: 7 days following the initial payment for a concept sketch.
● Comics:
- 7 days following the most recent relevant communication for a rough initial layout. This will include panel layout, rough sketches of panel contents, approximate text box and any sound effect locations.
- (Check-in 1.5) 15 days after approval of the initial layouts for cleaned sketches.5. Check-in 2: Lines and flats will be completed within 7 days of the sketch being approved.6. Check-in 3: A low res preview of the finished commission will be delivered within 7 days of the lines and flats being approved. If it looks good, an invoice for the remaining amount due will be sent over.7. Full res commission will be delivered within 7 days of receiving the final payment.8. Commission complete!
*One set of revision requests is allowed at each check-in. This makes a total of 3 for Illustrations (concept sketch, flats and lines, low res preview), and 4 for comics (layout, cleaned sketches, flats and lines, low res preview). Please take your time looking things over so you can submit all your changes at once!

Additional Notes about Comics
● Comics can be in page or scroll (Webtoon) format. Both average about 5 panels per "page."● The written script/scene does not have to take a specific form. You do not need to provide page layouts or individual panel descriptions. Write however is most comfortable to you whether that be prose, a comic script, or anything in between, and it will be adapted as necessary.● Changes may be made to your script so it reads more naturally as a comic. Comics get two cycles of revision requests in the sketch stage to account for this.● Because comic commissions are so much more involved and require a lot of communication, please be available to answer any questions in a timely manner until sketches are complete.
